This First Fist Hoodie was designed to highlight a picture I’ve seen my entire life in history books as well as many murals in black communities. The 1968 Olympics in Mexico City happened during the peak of segregation. Runners Tommie Smith , and John Carlos raised their fist during the start of the star spangled banner to protest racial inequality not only in sports but in the world. It was one of the first times black people felt like they won something.
